Police have released images of 28 football fans they wish to speak to following the disorder that erupted after Celtic's Premiership title win on May 16.
Unofficial Street Party Turns Violent
Around 3,000 supporters gathered in Glasgow's Merchant City after Celtic's 3-1 victory over Hearts at Parkhead. Missiles, including broken bottles, were thrown at police officers who were attending a medical emergency.
The violence left three members of the public in hospital and two police officers with serious injuries.
Appeal for Information
Chief Superintendent Emma Croft, divisional commander for Greater Glasgow, said: "Significant enquiries remain ongoing into this disorder which impacted communities, businesses, police officers and supporters. I would urge the people in these images, or anyone who believes they may recognise them, to contact us."
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Officers investigating disorder following Celtic’s Premiership title win have released images of 28 people who may be able to assist with the investigation. Extensive enquiries remain ongoing into the violence and anti-social behaviour which took place in the Trongate area of Glasgow, on Saturday, 16 May, 2026.
“Two officers were seriously injured and three members of the public required hospital treatment. Those depicted in the images, or anyone who believes they may recognise them, are asked to contact the police.”
