Police given extra powers to deal with troublemakers in Cardiff Bay

A dispersal order has been authorised in Cardiff Bay, giving police extra powers to deal with troublemakers across most of this weekend.

South Wales Police has confirmed a section 35 dispersal order will be in place from Friday afternoon until 4pm on Sunday, August 23. The order follows increased reports of recent antisocial behaviour and vehicle related antisocial behaviour.

Areas covered by the order

The order will cover areas including Harbour Drive, Britannia Quay, and Cargo Road. The extra powers are granted to South Wales Police under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime, and Policing Act 2014.
