Police have cordoned off part of Stanley Road in Bootle, closing the busy road in both directions while they deal with a serious incident.
Around four police cars and a number of officers are currently at the scene. Traffic management system Inrix is reporting congestion around Stanley Road, with the cordon in place between Merton Road and Balliol Road.
