Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising incident in Blantyre. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 2, when a car was reported on fire in Ivy Place at around 11.40pm.
Emergency services attended the scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported. Detectives are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Witness appeal
Enquiries have established that two men, pushing a bicycle, were seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident. They were described as wearing black clothing and face coverings.
Detective Constable Stuart Adams said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire to think back and consider if they noticed anything suspicious or unusual.” He also urged motorists with dash-cam to check their footage for any images that could assist the investigation.
