Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a man was repeatedly attacked outside a shop in St Helens. The incident occurred at around 3am on Saturday, February 21, on Ormskirk Street, outside Gibneys Jewellers.
The victim, a man in his 30s, approached three other men who were talking to two women. The suspects then assaulted him, continuing the attack even after he fell to the ground. He suffered a jaw injury requiring hospital treatment.
Detectives have released CCTV images of a man they believe may hold vital information. Detective Inspector Ruth Tickle described it as an unprovoked attack and urged anyone who recognises the man or witnessed the incident to come forward.
