Police appeal after man hurt in Bolton attack near Aldi

Police have issued an update and an appeal for witnesses after a man was left injured in an attack in Bolton. Officers were called to Manchester Road, at the junction with Raikes Lane, at around 5am on Wednesday morning (September 30). A cordon was placed on Manchester Road, close to the Esso garage opposite Aldi.

Man treated in hospital after facial injury

A forensic tent was seen on the pavement, while police taped off the surrounding area. Police have since confirmed that a man sustained a facial injury in an assault. He was taken to hospital from the scene for treatment and has since been discharged, the Manchester Evening News understands.

No arrests have been made. Greater Manchester Police shared an appeal today (October 1) urging any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.

GMP statement urges witnesses to come forward

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "We were investigating a report of an assault just before 5am on Wednesday 30 September 2026 on Manchester Road, Bolton, where a man sustained a facial injury.

"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries. Enquiries remain ongoing. Anyone with information or CCTV footage is urged to call police on 101 and quote log 394-30/9/26.
