Paisley teen missing for two days sparks police appeal

A teenager has been reported missing from Paisley, prompting a police appeal. Thomas Smith, 16, disappeared from the Renfrewshire town over the weekend and has now been missing for more than 24 hours.

Last seen in Fountain Gardens

Thomas was last seen in the Fountain Gardens area of Paisley at around 1.30pm on Saturday, August 15. He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, with short red or auburn hair.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms and white Nike trainers.

Links to Edinburgh area

Thomas is known to have links to the Edinburgh, Dalkeith, Gorebridge and Musselburgh areas. Police say worries are mounting for his welfare and they want to find him as soon as possible.

Police urge public to come forward

Anyone who might have spotted Thomas or has any insight as to where he might be is urged to come forward. Sergeant Brian Nesbitt said: “We are growing increasingly concerned about Thomas’ wellbeing and it is important that we trace him and confirm he is safe and well.

“We would ask anyone who thinks they may have seen him, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, to please get in touch.”
