British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to question following two stabbings at Oxford Circus tube station over the weekend. The incidents, which police believe are connected, occurred in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday, leaving two men hospitalised.
The first stabbing took place at 3.40am on Saturday, injuring a 23-year-old man. The second followed just after 1.30am on Sunday, leaving a 43-year-old man with stab wounds. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment, and no arrests have been made so far.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Davies condemned the violence, stating: “There is absolutely no place for violence on the rail network, and detectives are working at pace to investigate these two connected incidents.” He added that passengers would see an increased police presence at the station while inquiries continue.
