A devastating house fire has claimed one life and left four people fighting for their lives in a quiet suburban street north of Brisbane.
Early Morning Horror in Lawnton
Emergency services rushed to Darcy Way in Lawnton within the Moreton Bay Region after receiving desperate calls shortly after 5:30am on Sunday. The blaze had already taken such a fierce hold that the roof had partially collapsed by the time Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews arrived at the scene.
The intensity of the flames posed a significant threat to neighbouring properties, with firefighters working tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent homes in the residential area.
Multiple Casualties in Critical Condition
Tragically, one person was confirmed deceased at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency responders.
Four other occupants were rushed to hospital in life-threatening conditions. The casualties included:
