Nine individuals have sustained injuries in a shooting incident near England's World Cup base in Kansas City, Missouri. Law enforcement officers were dispatched to Troost Avenue shortly after 4am on Saturday following reports of gunfire.

The location is a short drive from the training facility and hotel where the England squad will be stationed during the tournament. Authorities confirmed that officers arrived to find a large crowd dispersing after shots were fired. Three women were wounded and transported to a hospital for treatment. All injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The shooting occurred on Troost Avenue at approximately 4am, near the England squad's training headquarters at Swope Soccer Village, southeast of the city. The team's accommodation is also in the vicinity. The Argentine side, the reigning World Cup holders, and the Dutch team are also stationed in Kansas City.

This incident follows England's 1-0 victory over New Zealand in their opening warm-up match in Tampa. The team will face Costa Rica in Orlando on Wednesday before traveling to Kansas City on Saturday, June 13. Harry Kane and the rest of the national squad will remain in the city for the duration of the tournament.
