Nine people have been taken to hospital following a medical emergency at Jesse Gray Primary School in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. Emergency services, including police cars and ambulances, were called to the school at around 2.17pm on Wednesday.
East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) confirmed that nine patients were transported to Queen's Medical Centre. A spokesperson said: "The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent a number of resources including paramedics in ambulance cars, crewed ambulances and our hazardous area response team. A responder from the air ambulance was also in attendance."
Initially, police and a local councillor reported that two pupils had been taken to hospital. Councillor Jonathan Wheeler, who represents West Bridgford South, stated that he had spoken with the school and that a couple of pupils had gone to hospital for precautionary checks, with parents aware.
Nottinghamshire Police said the incident is not believed to be criminal, and officers were at the scene in a supportive capacity. The nature of the medical emergency remains unclear.
