A violent mass brawl inside a busy Wetherspoons pub at London Victoria Station led to the arrest of nine men, British Transport Police have confirmed.
Chaos Unfolds in Front of Shocked Travellers
The disorder erupted at approximately 11:20pm on Saturday, 3 January, within the station's Wetherspoons establishment. Startled passengers looked on as a fight, which appeared to begin at a table overlooking the main concourse, rapidly escalated. Footage shared on social media captured one man punching a rival twice in the head, with the confrontation continuing despite attempts by others to intervene.
Station workers and members of the public, including one woman seen trying to separate the men, attempted to quell the melee. The one-minute-and-six-second video clip, filmed from the concourse, ends abruptly, but it is understood the fight persisted for some time afterwards. Train announcements could be heard in the background throughout the recorded fracas.
Police Response and Multiple Arrests
British Transport Police officers were swiftly called to the scene. A spokesperson confirmed that nine men were detained in connection with the incident. Eight were arrested on suspicion of affray, one on suspicion of common assault and affray, and one on suspicion of attempted Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).
All individuals have since been released on bail while further enquiries into the incident are ongoing. The extent of any injuries sustained during the brawl remains unclear.

This disorder follows a separate, unrelated incident at a Wetherspoons in Plymouth, Devon, where police are appealing for information after a man was sexually assaulted and then punched on a dance floor in September.
