A serial sex offender who preyed on women sleeping on London’s Night Tube services has been jailed. Salman Yousaf, 46, admitted to eight counts of sexual assault and one count of outraging public decency, committed between 2017 and 2021 on the Central and Jubilee lines.
Jail sentence and registration
Yousaf received a custodial sentence, an additional four years on licence, and was placed on the sexual offenders register for life. His identification came after a tip-off from the Metropolitan Police in 2024, enabling British Transport Police to link him to previously unsolved cold cases.
Previous conviction
Yousaf was already serving a prison sentence for a separate sexual assault where he targeted another woman who had fallen asleep on the Tube. The latest sentence ensures he will remain behind bars for an extended period.
British Transport Police praised the victims for their courage and urged anyone who has experienced similar offences to come forward. They emphasised that such predatory behaviour will not be tolerated on the transport network.
