Three Newport drug dealers who supplied around 28 people a day with cocaine and heroin have been jailed for a combined 10 years and six months. The sentencing follows an arrest captured on video, showing a plain-clothed police officer bringing a man to the ground in the city centre.
Arrest leads to convictions
Carlos Ross, 32, Logan James, 22, and Wesley Davies, 35, all from the Newport area, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday, September 17, where they pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin.
Police said the group supplied around five kilograms of crack cocaine and six kilograms of heroin between May 2025 and March 2026. In February, officers arrested James and found 116 wraps of crack cocaine and 43 wraps of heroin in his possession.
Sentences handed down
Ross, of Risca Road, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while James, of Clyffard Crescent, and Davies, of no fixed abode, were each sentenced to three years.
PC Lewis Iles, the officer in the case, said the three men had been involved in what he described as a “commercial criminal enterprise”, supplying Class A drugs across Newport. He said the operation supplied drugs to as many as 28 people a day and had caused harm in local communities.

Police said information from members of the public had also contributed to the investigation.
