A newlywed wife has made an emotional plea for her missing husband to come home, fearing for his health as he has diabetes. Julianna Zyra broke down in tears as she begged for Dominick Bianchi to return, saying he is very sick and not in the right headspace.
Dominick Bianchi, 35, vanished from his home in East Greenbush, New York, on Tuesday morning. He was last seen in the area of Forrest Pointe Drive at around 10am, and police have launched a public appeal to help find him. He is believed to have left his home on foot, leaving behind his car, phone and wallet.
Health concerns for missing man
His wife told News 10 that he is a Type 1 diabetic and she is unsure if he has his insulin with him. She said: “He has a continuous glucose monitor, which is paired to his phone that he doesn’t have. There’s a way to check his blood sugar without it, but I don’t know if he has that equipment with him.”
James Condo, assistant chief of the East Greenbush Police Department, said on Wednesday: “We have officers up there today continuing to search the area, canvas the residents, check local cameras. We had a search yesterday with the assistance of the New York State Police, Environmental Conservation, Rensselaer County Search and Rescue. We had the dogs. We had the New York State Police Aviation Unit, our own drones.”
Description and appeal
Dominick is described as 5 foot 11 inches with blue/green eyes, brown hair, and a beard. He has a chest tattoo of a skull and roses, a tattoo on his right arm of a baseball, and a back tattoo of a cross.
The couple have been married for a few months, and his wife explained that he had recently been struggling with his mental health. She added: “He has been struggling mentally for quite some time, and nobody really knows about it. It’s not fair. And I really wish people would stay off the internet, hypothesising things that happened, he’s very sick and he is not in the right headspace.”
In a direct appeal to her husband, she said: “Whatever it is that’s going on, there are so many people who care about you want you to be OK. I know you feel really alone, but there are people who want to help you. If you’re seeing this, please, come home.”
