Police have launched a murder investigation after human remains were found in woodland in west London. The Metropolitan Police were called at 6.35pm on Wednesday, 12 August, following reports that bones had been discovered near Padstow Walk in Feltham. Examinations have since confirmed the remains are human.
Remains believed to be a woman aged 25 to 45
Police said it is believed the remains belong to a woman aged approximately between 25 and 45 years old, and enquiries remain ongoing to confirm her identity. It is not clear how long the remains have been at the location, the force added.
A post-mortem took place on Monday, 17 August, after which the murder investigation was launched.
Appeal for information
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of these remains and are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened while keeping an open mind."
He added: "I would urge anyone who has information that may assist us in identifying the victim and understanding the circumstances of her death to come forward and speak to us."
