A woman in her 20s was seriously injured after shots were fired through her front door on Christmas Eve, with her one-year-old son present in the home. The incident occurred in Peckham, southeast London, late on December 24.
Two suspects discharged seven shots at the address, hitting the mother multiple times. She was taken to hospital in a critical condition and remains there receiving treatment over the festive period and into the New Year. The infant was unharmed.
Scotland Yard has appealed for witnesses, stating the suspects fled on foot towards Commercial Way. Both were dressed in dark clothing; one wore a grey hoodie and is believed to have carried the gun, while the other wore a dark hoodie.
Detective Inspector Jordan Gardner, leading the investigation, described it as 'a shocking act of violence, carried out at a family home where a young child was present'. He urged anyone with information, particularly those in Cronin Street, Commercial Way or Moody Road between 9.45pm and 11.45pm on December 24, to come forward.
