Several people, including two police officers, were injured in a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Police warn public to stay away
The Minneapolis police department responded to shots fired at the city’s convention center and warned the public to stay away from the area. No additional information was immediately released about the number of victims and their condition.
Governor responds
Minnesota governor Tim Walz said in a statement: “Grateful to law enforcement actively working to ensure the safety of our neighbors in Downtown Minneapolis this afternoon. Minnesota is praying for our first responders.”
