Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Newport Crash

A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Newport sustained serious injuries in a crash involving three vehicles on a bridge between Blaina Wharf and the A48 Spytty Road. The collision occurred shortly before 1:50 pm on Friday, July 24.

Emergency services attended the scene. The crash involved a white Honda 300 motorcycle, a white Mercedes A160, and a grey Skoda Fabia. The rider was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition, according to Gwent Police.

Police Investigation and Appeal

The road was closed for several hours while forensic collision investigators examined the scene. Officers are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

A Gwent Police statement said: 'Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious road traffic collision in Newport on Friday, July 24. Officers were called at around 1.50pm to a report of a road traffic collision on the bridge between Blaina Wharf and Spytty Road, Newport.'

The statement continued: 'We are particularly interested in speaking to motorists who were travelling in the area between 1.20pm and 2pm who may have captured footage on dashcam, particularly while travelling on Spytty Road, the bridge between Blaina Wharf and Morrisons Spytty, and Corporation Road and surrounding routes.'
