A mother of five is in a coma after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in a hit-and-run incident in Melbourne, Australia. The driver of the small white sedan fled the scene, prompting a police investigation.

The crash occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, May 10, in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Tania Kerr, 41, was riding an e-scooter when she was hit by a small sedan at approximately 12:20 am. Police have released a CCTV image of the vehicle they are attempting to locate.
Victim's Condition
Kerr sustained critical head and spinal injuries and remains in a coma at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her partner, Kayla Grech, expressed anger and heartbreak, pleading for the driver to surrender. "I'm very angry, very hurt, lost for words really. Especially to leave someone like that on the side of the road," Grech told reporters.
Police Response
Victoria Police Sergeant Emile Caggiati condemned the driver's actions as "deplorable" and urged the motorist to come forward. "It's appalling really, any motorist that leaves the scene of a collision where someone needs assistance, that behaviour is just deplorable," he said. He also advised e-scooter riders to wear helmets and ensure high visibility and lights at night.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police continue to appeal for information from the public.
