A 78-year-old woman has died after a Jaguar ploughed into her home in Coventry following a collision with a van. Barbara Howard was in her house on Shilton Lane when the car struck the property just before 5pm on Thursday, July 17.
Emergency services rushed Ms Howard to hospital, but she died shortly after arrival. West Midlands Police said the Jaguar had been involved in a crash with a Volkswagen van at the junction of Shilton Lane and Lentons Lane before hitting the house.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Ms Howard's family described her as 'caring, sharing, glamorous, and stunning, someone who loved life'. They added: 'Dancing mother of Debbie and Julie, our best friend was taken in the most horrific way. We love her to the moon and back.'
Both drivers were spoken to at the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. A spokesperson said: 'Our specialist officers remain in close contact with Barbara's family. We are urging anyone with information or footage to get in touch.'
