A 34-year-old mother and her seven-year-old son have tragically died after encountering difficulties in water at Elthorne Park in Ealing, west London. Emergency services were called to the park shortly before 4:30 pm on Saturday, where both individuals were recovered from the water.
Emergency Response
Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by first responders and members of the public, both the mother and son were pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Sunday evening that their inquiries determined the deaths were a 'tragic accident' and are not being treated as suspicious.

Next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. A local Liberal Democrat councillor extended his condolences to the family and the community.
