Minibus Crash in Central China Kills 13 on Highway

Thirteen people were killed in central China's Henan province early on Thursday after an overcrowded minibus collided with a large truck. The incident occurred at 2:40 a.m. local time on a section of the G40 highway, which connects Shanghai to Xian.

The minibus, approved to carry nine passengers, was carrying 16 people when it rear-ended a semi-trailer truck. China's public security ministry dispatched a working team to Nanyang to guide the investigation into the crash.

Deadly road accidents are common in China, frequently attributed to poor safety standards and reckless driving. This latest tragedy highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in the country.
