Milton Keynes police release CCTV images after rape

Thames Valley Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a woman was raped and another attacked in an attempted rape in Milton Keynes. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incidents, which occurred in the Conniburrow area last month.

Incidents in Conniburrow

A woman in her 30s was allegedly attacked on a pedestrian bridge on September 10, while a woman in her 50s was allegedly attacked on September 23. Both incidents are being investigated by Thames Valley Police.

A 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Milton Keynes, were arrested in connection with the incidents. Both have since been released from police custody on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Police appeal for footage

Officers investigating the incidents are now asking anyone living in the Conniburrow, Bradwell, Bradwell Common, Linford Wood and Heelands areas to come forward. The force has released a map of the area they are keen to hear from people in.

They have asked locals to check Ring Doorbell footage, CCTV or dash cam footage of a man on a bicycle on September 23 between 8pm and 11pm. The man in the released images is believed to have been in the areas pictured on the map during that time.

Investigation ongoing

Detective Inspector Graeme Williams, of Milton Keynes’ Criminal Investigation Department, said: “We appreciate that news of these incidents will have caused concern to local residents, and I would like to reassure you that we are following every line of enquiry available to us in order to bring whoever is responsible to justice.

“Both women are being supported by officers and we remain in contact with them. Based on the information available to us at the current time, we do not believe these incidents to be linked to any other offences in the area.

“Since these incidents were first reported to us we have been carrying out a range of comprehensive enquiries, including house to house and CCTV scoping in the area.

“In addition to the appeal we issued last week, which included an image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with these incidents, we would now like to hear from anyone with Ring Doorbell that may have captured him between the hours of 8pm and 11pm on 23 September in the areas pictured on the attached map.”

Anyone who recognises the man in the images or has footage that may assist the investigation is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference 43260474579. Information can also be submitted anonymously via Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111 or through their website.
