Metro services are suspended between South Shields and Pelaw in both directions due to what has been described as cable theft. Passengers are facing huge delays, and there are also delays across the rest of the network.
Replacement bus services in place
Replacement bus services are now operating, with Metro tickets being accepted on Go North East bus services 25, 26, 27, 35 and 36 between Heworth and South Shields.
