The Metropolitan Police have issued an update after a fatal stabbing in London on Tuesday. A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday, August 25, following the incident that occurred the same day. The teen remains in police custody, the force said in a statement released on Wednesday.
Emergency response at Brent Civic Centre
Police officers were called to Brent Civic Centre on Engineers Way, Wembley, at approximately 2.30pm yesterday after reports of a stabbing. Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, a teenager was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering stab wounds. While formal identification has not yet taken place, the Met stated the victim is believed to be David Wynter, 17. His next-of-kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
Section 60 order authorised
A Section 60 order has been authorised, granting officers enhanced powers to stop and search people and vehicles. This applies to the Wembley Park, Barnhill, Tokyngton, Stonebridge, Roundwood, Dollis Hill, Willesden and Welsh Harp ward areas of Brent, and will run from today at 3pm until 3.30am on Thursday.
