Merseyside Police has confirmed an extensive policing operation to keep communities safe throughout the Halloween and Bonfire Night season, with thousands expected to attend festivities across the region.
High-visibility patrols planned
The annual River of Light event will conclude on November 1, while independent firework displays will take place across Liverpool and Merseyside in the lead-up to Bonfire Night.
Additional officers will conduct high-visibility patrols, particularly in areas with a history of antisocial behaviour, to prevent criminal damage, fireworks misuse and other offences.
Partnership working
Police will work alongside TravelSafe teams, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, local authorities and Trading Standards to identify offenders, remove unsafe bonfires and tackle the illegal sale of fireworks.
Merseyside Police is urging residents, parents and guardians to help prevent antisocial behaviour and report concerns to support a safe and enjoyable festive season for everyone.
