Authorities in Massachusetts are investigating after a woman and her police officer husband were found dead in their home in an apparent murder-suicide.
Discovery and Response
The bodies were discovered on Monday at a residence in the town of Millbury, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office. The woman was identified as 32-year-old Ashley O'Connor, and her husband was identified as 34-year-old Millbury police Officer Michael O'Connor.
Police were called to the home for a well-being check, and upon arrival, they found the couple dead. The district attorney's office said the preliminary investigation indicates the deaths were the result of an apparent murder-suicide, with Michael O'Connor believed to have shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.
Investigation Underway
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
The Millbury Police Department expressed condolences, saying the department is mourning the loss of one of its own and extends its sympathies to the families of both individuals.
