Images have emerged showing the injuries suffered by a man attacked by three "bully-type dogs" while out on a morning walk.
The man and a woman were walking on a path near Railway Terrace in Caerau, Maesteg, at around 7am on Saturday, when three reportedly off-lead dogs attacked their dog. In defending his dog and partner from the attack, the man was bitten a number of times by one of the three dogs, resulting in serious injuries.
Deep wounds to arms
Pictures of his injuries show a number of deep wounds to the man's arms. The dog and the man's partner suffered minor injuries in the incident, which is reportedly the second of its kind within the last two days.
Police investigation ongoing
Police say their investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with officers conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area to identify those responsible.
A police spokesperson said: "South Wales Police received a report just before 7.05am yesterday morning, Saturday September 26, that a man had been walking on a path near Railway Terrace, Caerau, Maesteg, when three dogs approached him and one of the dogs bit him."
"Enquiries are ongoing, including house-to-house enquiries and the review of any available CCTV footage. Officers are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident and identify those involved."
