Man's Body Recovered from River Fowey in Cornwall

Emergency services recovered the body of a man in his 70s from the River Fowey in Cornwall on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Devon and Cornwall Police, alongside firefighters, responded to reports of a person in the water at approximately 4:30 pm.

Police Declare Incident a Tragic Accident

Despite efforts to save the man's life, he was declared deceased at the scene. In a Facebook post, St Austell Police stated: "We believe this incident to have been a tragic accident. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist teams."
