Police have launched a manhunt after a woman was assaulted on a train in the West Midlands, releasing CCTV images of a man they urgently want to speak to. The attack occurred at around 3.50pm on Saturday 13 June.
Attack on the train
The victim was on a video call in a carriage when a man approached her. She told him to go away, but he responded by punching her in the cheek and chest. The attacker briefly walked off before returning moments later, pushing the woman and punching her in the face, which caused her to fall.
As the train neared Coventry railway station, the victim tried to leave but the man followed her, subjecting her to verbal abuse. She managed to get away from him at the station, and he also alighted at Coventry.
Police appeal
Officers investigating the incident have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may hold vital information. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 433 of 13 June. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as the search for the suspect continues.
