A man is fighting for his life following a shooting at Mango nightclub in Birmingham, with three others injured. West Midlands Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident, but a manhunt is underway for a suspect who remains at large.
The shooting occurred at around 3am on Saturday at the nightclub on Bristol Street. Two men and a woman sustained less serious injuries and are receiving treatment. Police arrested three people in their 20s and 30s from a car on the M6 in Warwickshire shortly after the incident. They remain in custody on suspicion of violent disorder.
Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke said: “This happened in a busy nightclub, on one of the main roads out of Birmingham city centre, so it’s vital that we hear from anybody who saw what happened or who may have captured it on dashcam. Our investigation is moving rapidly, and urgent inquiries have led to the arrests of three people, but we continue to investigate as we identify everyone involved.”
Bristol Street has been cordoned off and police expect the cordon to remain in place for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area southbound from Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street. Extra high-visibility patrols will be deployed in the area.
