Police have initiated a manhunt following reports that two teenage girls were raped in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Authorities were alerted to the incident on South Beach Parade at 12:37 AM on Saturday, prompting an immediate response from Norfolk Constabulary.
Cordon and Investigation
Upon arrival, officers established a cordon around the scene to facilitate their investigation. The cordon has since been lifted as inquiries continue. A man in his thirties was arrested on Sunday in Northamptonshire on suspicion of rape. He is currently being held at King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Second Suspect Sought
Police are actively searching for a second suspect, described as a white male with short dark hair and dark facial hair, aged between thirty and forty years old. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark green jacket featuring a white stripe on both sleeves.
Chief Inspector Nick Paling, district commander for Great Yarmouth, expressed the gravity of the situation: “We recognise how shocking and distressing these incidents are for the victims, their families, and the wider community. Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls as we work through this investigation.”
He added, “There will be an increased police presence in the area, with officers carrying out reassurance patrols. Please do approach them if you have any concerns or information.”
This remains a developing story, and further details will be released as they become available.
