Five fire engines were dispatched to a house fire on Bransford Road in Openshaw, Manchester, in the early hours of Tuesday, July 21. The blaze broke out at around 2am, with huge flames and smoke billowing from the roof of the property.
Fire Crews Respond Quickly
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed that crews from Gorton, Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester Central, and Moss Side attended the scene. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, two jets, and one hose reel to extinguish the flames.
Two people were assessed by paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service at the scene. Images captured after the fire showed the roof of the home completely burnt out.
Ongoing Safety Work
Firefighters remained on the scene into the afternoon, working to make the area safe. A GMFRS spokesperson stated: "At around 2am this morning (Tuesday 21 July), five fire engines from Gorton, Ashton Under Lyne, Manchester Central and Moss Side attended a house fire on Bransford Road, Manchester. Crews arrived quickly and used breathing apparatus, two jets and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Two people were assessed by North West Ambulance Service at the scene. Firefighters remain at the scene, working to make the area safe."
The cause of the blaze has not yet been released, and investigations are ongoing.
