Motorcyclist Dies in Serious Crash on Manchester Airport Link Road

A motorcyclist has died following a serious crash on the Manchester Airport link road, prompting a major police incident. The A555 has been closed in both directions between Cheadle and Poynton since Sunday afternoon, April 26.

Greater Manchester Police and the air ambulance attended the scene. Witnesses reported seeing a damaged motorcycle in the road, and the air ambulance has since departed. Officers from the serious collision investigation unit remain at the scene.

Police have appealed for information and advised motorists to avoid the area. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours into the evening. Traffic is being turned around and rerouted.
