Manchester United concluded their pre-season schedule with a defeat to AC Milan on Saturday, as Michael Carrick's side now turn attention to their Premier League opener against Hull City next week.
Carrick was missing several first-team players due to injury, and there was a brief concern when Matheus Cunha went down and required treatment. The knock did not appear serious, and he was able to continue before being substituted just after the hour mark, showing no ill-effects.
Cunha and De Ligt updates
Cunha is expected to be fit for the Hull match on August 22. Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt has not played since November due to back surgery. He is back training on grass and travelled to the Republic of Ireland for the training camp, but no return date has been announced.
Mount and Sesko doubts
Mason Mount walked off early in the PSG friendly with a foot injury, but fears were eased when he showed no limp. However, he has missed the friendlies against Leeds and AC Milan, making a start against Hull unlikely, though he could make the squad.
Benjamin Sesko has been out with a shin injury since early May. The plan was for him to feature in a late pre-season friendly, but his absence from the Milan squad means he missed that target. Bryan Mbeumo is set to start against Hull, and Sesko may not even make the bench, with a possible return against Ipswich on August 30.
Heaton, Ugarte, and Darlow
Tom Heaton will discover the extent of his hamstring injury next weekend, but he faces at least a few weeks out. Manuel Ugarte suffered a knee ligament injury in Uruguay's World Cup defeat to Spain in June, and his return is not expected until 2027. Karl Darlow has been recovering from a pre-existing issue but is not thought to be seriously injured, and could return against Hull.
