Masum Miah, 42, was shot dead in Newham, with police naming him as the victim of a fatal shooting on Tuesday, August 18.
Details of the Incident
Police were called to Bartholomew’s Road at around 3am following reports of gunshots being fired. Miah was found with a gunshot wound inside a car. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.
His family continue to be supported by specialist officers. Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting, and enquiries remain ongoing.
Investigation and Appeal
No arrests have yet been made. Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Masum’s family as they come to terms with his tragic death.”
Whitten added: “We are continuing to appeal to anyone with information that could assist our enquiries to come forward. If you were in the area at the time of the shooting, witnessed anything suspicious or have any dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage that could support our investigation, we urge you to get in touch. No matter how big or small the information you have is, it could prove vital in helping us piece together the full circumstances.”
