A man has been shot dead at a pub in north London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
The shooting occurred on Hertford Road, Enfield, on Monday. Emergency services arrived at the scene at 9.30pm, where a 35-year-old man was treated by paramedics for gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Release CCTV Image
Police have released an image of a person they want to speak to in connection with their investigation. A spokesperson for the force said it was “unclear at this early stage whether this was a man or woman, or if the person is wearing a disguise.”
Detectives are urging anyone who recognises the person in the image to come forward. No arrests have been made, and enquiries remain ongoing. A crime scene remains in place while officers investigate.
Detective's Appeal
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts are with the victim's family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time as they begin to come to terms with this senseless act."
He added: "We are releasing CCTV images of a person we would like to identify and speak to in connection with the investigation as our enquiries progress swiftly. We are also particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage that could assist our enquiries. Even information that may seem insignificant could prove crucial. No piece of information is too small, and I would urge anyone who believes they can help to contact police."
Community Reassurance
Chief Superintendent Anna Mccartney, who leads policing in the area, said: "We recognise the concern local people will have and can reassure them that our officers are working urgently to identify and trace those responsible. Serious violence has no place in our community, and the Met remains fully committed to tackling gun crime. We are determined to establish exactly what happened and provide much needed answers for those affected by this tragic incident."
