Police have launched an investigation after a man in his 20s was found dead inside a property in Oxton, Merseyside, with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit attending as a precautionary measure.
North West Ambulance Service contacted Merseyside Police at approximately 3:55pm on Saturday 3 October after discovering the body of a man in his 20s at a property on Reedville. Officers attended the scene, and following initial enquiries, the death is being treated as unexpected.
Substances removed from property
Police confirmed that the EOD unit attended the location as a precaution to assess and remove substances found within the property. They have stated there is no wider risk to the public at this stage.
The man's next of kin has been informed, and a file will be passed to the Coroner.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police can confirm that emergency services remain in Oxton today (Sunday 4 October) following a sudden death yesterday."
