A man has been taken to hospital after an early-hours assault on a busy Bolton road. Police were called to Manchester Road, at the junction with Raikes Lane, at around 5am on September 30.
Injuries and scene
The Manchester Evening News understands the man suffered facial injuries that resulted in bleeding. The cause of the injuries is not yet known.
A cordon was put in place on Manchester Road, close to the Esso garage opposite Aldi. A forensic tent was seen on the pavement, and police taped off the surrounding area.
Police response
No arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident. Greater Manchester Police says enquiries are ongoing. The cordon on Manchester Road has since been lifted.
A force spokesperson said: "Called to reports of an assault just before 5am today on Manchester Road, Bolton. Emergency services attended and a man has been taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries. Enquiries are ongoing."
