A man was glassed in the face inside a McDonald's during a “vicious attack” in Liverpool city centre, leaving him with a serious facial injury.
Just after 8pm on Saturday, September 26, Merseyside Police received a report that a man holding a glass had bumped into a man and a woman inside McDonald's on Ranelagh Street and became verbally aggressive towards them. Following an argument, he smashed the glass onto the side of the man's face, causing multiple cuts, before running out of the restaurant.
Police appeal for information
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect. Detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Joe Rea said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack that has left the victim with a serious facial injury, and such violence like this will never be tolerated.
“This incident took place at a busy time of night where there were lots of people, so if you were in the vicinity at around 8pm yesterday and saw anything, then please contact us.
“I am appealing to the man featured in these images, or anyone who recognises them to please contact us. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
