Police have arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Salford. Officers were called to a disturbance in Kempster Gardens at 5.19am today (August 12).
Victim and suspect identified
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) says a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. A man, also aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and taken into police custody for questioning.
Police statement on investigation
Senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Jen Tattersall, said: "We understand this will be a shock to the community after a man has sadly lost his life in the early hours of this morning. Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
"We have arrested a man on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody. We are not looking for any further suspects and believe this was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the community."
