Merseyside Police have confirmed that the body of a man, in his 40s, was discovered this morning, Saturday, August 1, inside a hotel room on Mount Pleasant in Liverpool city centre.
Emergency services were called to the scene following the report. At around 11.15 am, police received a report that the man's body had been found.
Death treated as unexpected
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Merseyside Police said his death is being treated as unexpected.
The man's next of kin have been informed. A postmortem investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Enquiries ongoing
The force said enquiries at the scene remain ongoing.
