A murder investigation has been launched after a 20-year-old man was shot dead at a house in Litherland, Merseyside. Police were called to a property on Harrington Road at around 23:00 BST on Tuesday following reports of a shooting.
The victim was shot through a window and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective Inspector Tracey Martin described the incident as a “violent and tragic killing” and urged any witnesses to come forward. “We are in the early stages of our investigation, but we believe this was a targeted attack,” she said.
The street remains cordoned off, and officers will remain in Harrington Road and the surrounding area for the next few days as inquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police.
