A man in his 50s was found dead near Victoria station in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Police were called just before 5am following reports that a man had collapsed outside McDonald's on Victoria Street.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A police cordon was put in place, and a forensic tent was erected as investigations began.
The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Formal identification has yet to take place, and officers are working to trace the man's next of kin.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Around 04:50hrs on Tuesday, 23 June, officers attended Victoria Street, Westminster, after a man was found collapsed. The man – aged in his 50s – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
