A man has died after being electrocuted on a railway line in West Sussex while fleeing from police, British Transport Police have confirmed.
Jack Mansfield, 26, from Brighton, was killed near Three Bridges station in Crawley in the early hours of 8 July. He and a friend had missed the last train and were walking home along the tracks.
Officers from British Transport Police were called to the scene after reports of two men on the railway. During the incident, Mansfield fell onto a live rail and suffered a fatal electric shock.

His friend was unharmed and is assisting police with their inquiries. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
