A man who died after being found injured on a Glasgow street on Christmas Day has been named locally as Dean Kennedy. Emergency services attended the scene in the west end of the city at around 11.40pm on 25 December, where a 38-year-old man was discovered with injuries.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but was tragically pronounced dead. Police Scotland have cordoned off Napiershall Street and North Woodside Road in the Woodside area while investigations continue.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Kennedy, who is understood to be a father. One friend wrote on social media: 'Rest easy my good friend taken from our streets but not our hearts. Gutted.' Another said: 'RIP Deano mate thoughts are with family.'
Forensic officers in white protective suits have been seen at the scene, which remains sealed off on Boxing Day. A large police presence has been reported, with one local saying they were unable to access their flat due to the cordon.
Police Scotland confirmed a positive line of enquiry and stated that there will be a continued presence in the area. Anyone with concerns can approach officers. The roads remain closed to allow for investigations.
