Dyfed-Powys Police have launched an investigation after a 25-year-old man died at a caravan park near the Royal Welsh Show site in Builth Wells. Officers were called to Penmaenau Farm, Llanelwedd, at approximately 10.30pm on Saturday following reports of a medical emergency. Paramedics attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrests Made in Connection with Incident
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences in connection with the incident. They remain in police custody as enquiries continue. The arrests follow a swift response from officers who swarmed the caravan park after the medical emergency was reported.
Eyewitness Accounts and Evacuation
Eyewitnesses told WalesOnline that they were evacuated from the Penmaenau Farm caravan park following the incident, although this has not been officially confirmed by police. The area remains cordoned off as forensic teams and investigators carry out their work.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased, pending formal identification and notification of next of kin. A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Dyfed-Powys Police have urged anyone with information to come forward. A spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died. We are committed to establishing the full circumstances of this tragic incident.” The caravan park is located near the Royal Welsh Showground, which hosts one of the UK’s largest agricultural events each summer.
