A man in his 50s has died after suffering a suspected medical episode at Cuerden Valley Park in Lancashire. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Clayton Brook Reservoir near Chorley on the evening of Friday, July 17, 2026.

Lancashire Police confirmed that despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A force spokesperson stated: "We were called to Clayton Brook Reservoir at 5.21pm on 17th July 2026 following reports a man in his 50s was suffering a suspected medical episode. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene."
The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for HM Coroner, according to Lancs Live. The police added: "Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this extremely sad time."

The air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but the man could not be revived. The incident occurred at Clayton Brook Reservoir, a popular spot within Cuerden Valley Park, a large public park near Chorley.
