Man dies after being seriously injured under Glasgow bridge

Emergency services were called to the Broomielaw in Glasgow city centre on Monday afternoon, August 17, following a report of a man seriously injured beneath George V Bridge. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police cordon off area under bridge

The area under the bridge and the adjacent Caledonian Railway Bridge on the north bank of the River Clyde has been cordoned off while investigations continue. Police Scotland have stated that the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Police appeal for information

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.40pm on Monday, August 17, we were called to a report of a man seriously injured at the Broomielaw, beneath George V Bridge, in Glasgow. Emergency services attended however the man was pronounced dead. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
